    Terms of service

The agreement between you and Truberri when you read, make or sell books with us. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

    Last updated 1 November 2026

    About these terms

Truberri is a trading name of Annarrah Limited (company number 14512520), registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 853-859 Salisbury House, 29 Finsbury Circus, London, England, EC2M 5QQ. Contact us at hello@truberri.com.

These terms apply to the Truberri apps (including apps published for individual authors), the web reader at read.truberri.com, Truberri Studio and this website. Our privacy policy, cookie notice and acceptable use policy are part of them. Schools and coaches on a Cohort plan also agree to our data processing agreement.

    Your account

    • You must be 13 or older to create an account. Younger children can only use Truberri through an account set up by their school.
    • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
    • One reader account works across every Truberri app and the web reader.
    • If you make books, you can create workspaces and invite others. The workspace owner is responsible for the workspace, its plan and the people they invite.

    For readers

    Reading and answering

The apps are free. You get a book with an access code, a link, a school class code or by buying it on the web. Your answers belong to you. You give us permission to store them and to include them, without your name, in the totals and themes the book's author sees. Named answers are only shared as described in our privacy policy.

    Buying a book

Paid books are sold on the web, not in the apps. When you buy a book, you buy it from its seller (the author or publisher named on the sales page). Truberri runs the sales page and checkout and takes payment on the seller's behalf through Stripe. Prices include VAT where it applies.

You get access as soon as payment goes through. Because the book is digital and starts straight away, you agree when you buy that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once you have access. This doesn't affect your rights if the book is faulty or not as described. For refunds, contact the seller or email hello@truberri.com and we'll pass it on. A refunded book is removed from your library.

Access to a book lasts as long as the seller keeps it available on Truberri. If a seller removes a book you paid for in the last 12 months, we'll ask them to refund you or help you export your answers.

    For authors, publishers and schools

    Plans, trials and billing

    • Plans and limits are shown on our pricing page. Starter and Author Pro start with a 14-day free trial.
    • Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance, plus VAT, and renew automatically until you cancel.
    • If you go over your plan's active readers, we may charge for the extra readers at the rate on the pricing page or ask you to upgrade.
    • You can change or cancel your plan at any time from Billing. Cancelling stops renewal; your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part-periods unless the law requires it.
    • Cohort plans are billed per reader per year, with the minimum shown on the pricing page.
    • If a payment fails, we'll tell you and try again. If it stays unpaid after 14 days, we may pause publishing and new unlocks until it's settled.

    Selling books

    • To sell, you connect a payout account with Stripe and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.
    • You are the seller. You set the price and you're responsible for the book, for refunds and for your own taxes on what you earn.
    • We keep 10% of each sale (5% on Publisher and Cohort plans). Stripe's processing fee comes out of our share, not yours. The rest is paid to your bank by Stripe.
    • If you refund a sale, your share is reversed and we refund our fee in proportion.
    • Books are never sold or priced inside the mobile apps.

    Your books

You keep all rights in the books you upload. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, convert, format and show them to the readers you give access to, and to show the cover and description on the book's sales page, for as long as the book is on Truberri. You confirm that you own or have permission to use everything you upload, and that it follows our acceptable use policy.

We use AI to suggest which parts of your manuscript are questions. We never rewrite your text, but suggestions can be wrong, so you must check every flagged question before publishing. You are responsible for what you publish.

    Publishers and teams

An author can link a publisher to their workspace and can remove that link at any time. Anything a publisher does in an author's workspace is recorded in its activity log. Each person signs in with their own account; never share a login.

    What you see about readers

You get anonymous totals and themes. You agree not to try to identify individual readers from them, and to use identified responses (on Cohort plans) only for teaching or coaching the readers who agreed to share them.

    Copyright complaints

If you think a book on Truberri infringes your rights, email hello@truberri.com with the book's title or link, what you own and how to contact you. We'll review it promptly and may remove the book while we do. We'll tell the uploader and give them a chance to respond.

    Our service

We work hard to keep Truberri running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change features over time; if we remove something important you pay for, we'll tell you at least 30 days ahead.

Truberri, its apps, design and software belong to us. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer them.

    Suspending or closing an account

You can close your account or workspace at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, or puts readers at risk; where we can, we'll warn you first and explain why. When a workspace closes, you can export your books and aggregates for 30 days, after which they are deleted.

    Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, you also have legal rights these terms don't affect.

For workspaces using Truberri for business, we aren't liable for indirect losses or lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

    Changes and the law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
